Mission:
Getting started
Location: Quarters/ Labs
Amelia had left the meeting with the Captain and XO feeling very good about this ship. Whatever it was that had happened prior to her arrival had apparently been painful for the command staff but they seemed to be dealing with it. And time, as they say, heals all wounds. Amelia found her assigned quarters without too much difficulty and began to unpack her belongings. She was pleasantly surprised that the belongings that had been inbound to her previous posting had been rerouted to this ship. Of course it made moving in all the move fun because she had all her mementos at her fingertips.
She set aside the few items that she would bring for her office in the Science labs. She was a little old fashioned in some ways and preferred to have a hardcopy of certain published documents. Her 'Bevy of Books' as one of her past associates had called them. But sometimes these older books had information not found in the computer's databases.
It took her about an hour to get everything unpacked and mostly in place. She would probably move a few things later, but for now she was satisfied with the result. She picked up one of the boxes to head to the lab with a slight "ompf". "Damn," She said into the air, "I forgot how heavy these could be!" She made her way to the Main Science lab, carefully balancing her cargo.
Amelia entered the Main Science Lab and looked around in admiration. It was really quite impressive. Her office was off to the left and she headed in and placed the box on the desk. She frowned slightly noticing she had a little problem. There were no book shelves. She would have to send in a request to engineering to have one installed so for now the books would stay in the box.
She decided to take a little tour and inspect the rest of the lab and meet whatever science crew were in attendance. She would need to sit down later and go over the roster and assign shifts. But today was an informal day.
The business of Science could wait for a bit.
