Simon's Downfall

Mission: Getting started
Location: Captain's Ready Room
Timeline: Day 1 SL1 09:00 Hrs

Having just settled and his new Quarters aboard the Sovereign Class Starship Siren, Simon looked around the spacious room, Suddenly his combadge chirped, He said =/\= Stevens here, Go ahead =/\= as he knew that thing had to be sorted out before they left drydock, however, things had not been straight forward for the last few days with new crew joining, but he would have to meet with the new crew some time.

As he exited his new Quarters and headed towards the bridge, just who was this new Major and why the hell was he being summoned to his own office as questions swirled around in his mind about this as things didn’t add up as he continued walking towards the nearest turbolift, and for what reason he knew that he hadn’t done anything wrong as he turned the corner and entered the turbolift that some another crew had vacated.

Rian was not best pleased sat in the chair of Simon stevens his XO, The news had come from his father not an hour ago. In a private meeting between father and son, Simon’s security codes had been used along with 2 others aboard the original siren, the crime here was that it was completely omitted from his report and now Starfleet security ops had come in to deal with it, it was a huge breach of security one that would not be forgotten in a hurry.

Upon finding the nearest turbolift, Simon still had no clue what this was all about, however; he was going to find out as he knew it was bad when having to report to Rian’s office as he turned the corner with other members of the crew nodding towards him in respect for his position. Upon entering the lift Simon said “Bridge” as he started to feel like he was going to see the Dean as he started to worry.

Upon exiting the bridge with the report he had been working on for the last few hours, still, in his hand, Simon headed straight for the Captains Ready room. Simon had a feeling in his gut that something bad had happened but what? That was the question as he pressed the door chime and waited for Rian to call him to enter the room.

Rian looked to the door “Enter” he spoke in a gruff voice, he prepared all the evidence he needed before simons arrival and he knew that most of this was pretty damning, to say the least, but he took a swig from his tea and waited for Simon to enter.

As Simon entered the room, He said,” You wanted to see me, sir?” as he came to a halt before Rian, as he noticed that Rian was not happy about something and the look said it all, Simon could tell he was angry, and glaring at him like he was a deer in the headlights but something told him that he was in trouble.

Rian looked up from his cup “I suggest you take a seat” he said with some form of warmth to his voice “This isn’t good Simon I won’t lie” he said placing down his cup of tea “I have pretty damning evidence to suggest that your security codes along with two others were used to set a self to destruct aboard the siren Starfleet security ops are on there way to handle the matter” he said matter of factly “What’s even worse is that you omitted this fact from your final report on the situation and that is the crime here”

“What!” replied Simon as he looked back at Rian, “ I don’t know what sort of bullshit this is Sir, but you have been lied to, But not by me,” he stated as he took his seat in front of his commanding officer, “but someone has Sir, and I intend to find out who,” he finished speaking keeping his gaze upon Rian as he knew that someone had set him up big time, but the question remained Who?

Rian looked at him “They were your security codes Simon and two others that states all three were used to set the self to destruct” he looked at the evidence “The evidence in front of me doesn’t lie Simon it’s here for me to see plain as day” he said he wanted to believe his XO he really did but the odds were stacked against him and they were high “There will be an investigation and until such a time you are relieved of your XO Duties and command to want me to place your clearance at 3 which means at best you can do Strat ops which is where I’m placing you and unfortunately you are being demoted to lieutenant” he said stating his facts “This is the way it has to be Simon and this is what command and my self have agreed on at the end of the day your lucky Starfleet security ops are not throwing you in the brig right now it’s only because of me that you aren’t”

“This is bull shit Rian and you know it,” replied Simon, “Why would I damage my Career like this?” as he still was not happy, he had been shafted, and to him, it stunk of Jealousy that he had got the XO position and that someone who had done this had been overlooked.” But I am going to investigate this and when I catch them I want a full apology from your father and you,” he stated keeping his gaze upon Rian he said,” But I will take the demotion and the Assignment,”

Rian looked up from his cup fire alive in his eyes, put his mug down on the table in front of him he cocked his head to give Simon a “You really just said that to your commanding officer” kinda look “thank you for cooperating but please do so to remember I am your commanding officer and whilst we have a friendship Simon that does not mean our professional relationship is the same you do not have the right to demand an apology from me or the commodore we are following protocol and if I feel I need to make a personal apology to you I will but on a professional level I am still your superior officer” he said looking at him the fire still in his eyes “Your dismissed lieutenant turn in your pips and clearance and go and report to the quartermaster for your new pips and clearance” he said drinking from his tea pressing the button to open his door.

As Simon rose from his chair and headed towards the exit before he did he said “ Oh by the way Sir, here is the report you asked me for before this crap happened,” as he slid it across the desk towards Rian, he even started to wonder just how powerful were the O’ Donaghue’s as he then walked out the room and headed straight to the quartermaster’s office, but he was going to investigate this crime and when he did find out who had done it and now it had become his mission in life to prove them wrong. All of them wrong.
