| Personal History | Pre-Starfleet History In May 2356 James was born on Betazed in a small village outside the main capital of the planet, to Stewart and Mary Icheka, the Icheka family had ties in the Sheena family, another betazoid family within Starfleet. James grew up around a loving family. Being an only child he grew up around his relatives in the Sheena family, mainly Nemah and Etral who were easy to hang out with his mother falling back to the old traditions of the Betazoids, only wishing the best for her son, asked Shalim if she would pair up their children. Shalim agreed and invited the Icheks to the Sheena estate on Betazed when James and her daughter Nehis were younger. During the family dinner, James and Nehis were seated next to each other. That was the first of their telepathic bonding, but because James lived on Betazed and Nehis on different parts of Betazed, this soon faded, but the family didn’t forget this bonding and Shalim would soon come around and fulfil the pact the Sheena and Ichek family made. Even from a young age, James had a dab hand at archery, unlike his relatives Nemah and Etral, he was always better at the physical side of things. Entering archery contests, James always came out victorious, During his years at competitions, James found himself at the centre of a storm when one of the public got hit by a stray arrow from another archer, it was his quick thinking when someone was about to pull the arrow out when he told them to leave it alone. It was this action that gave him the sense that Medical was his calling and he should ask his family if he could start medical school. When he turned 16, James applied to Tobias Medical school on Earth where for the next 4 years he spent in his studies, whilst there, James met a young female student by the name of Kathy Tolson who found herself struggling with her own studies, he went out of his way to help her catch up and keep up, by the end of the first term, She had fallen for James and had asked him out on a date. After he graduated from medical school in 2376, James had to make a choice either set up his practice or join Starfleet which he knew would be other 4 years of study but it would also give him knowledge about other race and expand his horizons as his tutors always said never be afraid to continue learning. Starfleet History In 2395 James enrolled at Starfleet’s newest academy called Mystic Knights, all thought set in the Gamma quadrant, to James this was frontier Medicine, However; it was the first time that he had been this far away from his Homeworld and hoped to make his family proud of him. |
